FAQ's
What is slime? Slime is Slime is a fun and gooey substance that's a bit like a thick, stretchy liquid. It's often made using ingredients like glue, water, and a slime activator, which could be something like borax or liquid starch.
Is slime safe to play with? Yes, slime is generally safe to play with. We use non-toxic ingredients and always practice under adult supervision, especially for younger children. However, it's essential to use common sense and follow safety guidelines when playing with slime.
What age is appropriate for playing with slime? The appropriate age for playing with slime can vary depending on the child's maturity level, ability to follow safety instructions, and supervision available. Generally, children as young as 3 or 4 years old can enjoy playing with slime under close supervision, especially if there are no small parts that could pose a choking hazard.
How do I store my slime?
Air-tight containers: Store your slime in an air-tight container to prevent air exposure, which can dry out the slime. Plastic containers with tight-fitting lids or resealable bags work well for this purpose.
Avoid direct sunlight: Keep your slime away from direct sunlight and heat sources, as exposure to sunlight and heat can cause the slime to melt or become sticky.
Cool, dry place: Store your slime in a cool, dry place, such as a cupboard or drawer. Avoid storing it in humid or damp areas, as moisture can affect the consistency of the slime.
Keep away from dust and debris: Make sure the container or bag is clean before storing your slime to prevent dust, dirt, or other debris from contaminating it.
Check regularly: Periodically check your slime to ensure it hasn't dried out or become too sticky. If it has, you can try adding a small amount of water or slime activator to restore its consistency.
My slime has become hard. What should I do?
Add moisture: Try adding a small amount of water to the slime, a few drops at a time, and knead it thoroughly until the water is fully incorporated. This can help hydrate the slime and soften it up.
Use lotion or oil: Adding a small amount of lotion, baby oil, or cooking oil to the slime can help soften it and make it more pliable. Start with a small amount and knead it into the slime until you reach the desired consistency.
Warm it up: Heating the slime slightly can help soften it. You can try microwaving it for a few seconds (be sure to use a microwave-safe container) or holding it in your hands to warm it up before kneading it.
Try slime activator: If your slime was made with a borax solution or slime activator, you can try adding a little bit more activator to the slime and kneading it in. This can help re-activate the ingredients and restore the slime's texture.
Store it properly: Make sure to store your slime in an airtight container when you're not playing with it to prevent it from drying out and becoming hard in the future.
How long does slime typically last? The lifespan of slime can vary depending on factors such as its ingredients, how it's stored, and how frequently it's played with. Generally, well-made slime that's properly stored can last for several weeks to a few months.
